Intra-House Debate Competition Organised at St. Xavier’s School On 25th July 2025, an Intra-House Debate Competition was successfully organised at St. Xavier’s School. Students from all houses participated with great enthusiasm, showcasing their oratory skills and critical thinking. The competition was conducted in two categories: Category 1 included students from Classes 6 to 8. The topic for this group was —“Is cleanliness solely the government’s responsibility or ours too?”The participants presented their arguments both in favour of and against the motion with clarity and conviction. Category 2 consisted of students from Classes 9 to 12. Their topic was —“Do board examinations create excessive mental pressure on students?”The debaters expressed their views with depth and confidence, drawing from personal experiences and thoughtful reasoning. The students’ enthusiasm and delivery during the debate were commendable and reflected their preparedness and passion. At the end of the event, the Principal, Dr. Ana Banerjee, addressed the participants with encouraging words and extended her heartfelt best wishes to all. The winners of the competition were: In Category 1, Anugya Chandra secured the First Prize. In Category 2, Aadhya Bhatt was awarded the First Prize. Wordsworth House emerged as the Overall Winner, securing the top position in both categories, thereby adding to the house’s prestige and pride.

St. Xavier’s School in Dehradun celebrated National Sports Day with great enthusiasm, paying tribute to the legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand. *The theme, “Ek Ghanta Khel Ke Maidan Mein,”* highlighted the importance of dedicating time to sports and physical activity.The school’s festivities included a skit performed by middle school students, emphasizing the significance of physical activity and sports. Senior students paid tribute to Major Dhyan Chand, discussing his contributions to Indian sports. Principal Dr. Ena Banerjee led the students and staff in a pledge, reaffirming their commitment to sports and physical activity.The school’s efforts were recognized when it was felicitated by Sports Minister Mrs. Rekha Arya, along with 19 other schools, at a ceremony organized by The Times of India. Students Ayush Kumar, Shobhit Thapa, Mansi Uniyal, and Pooja Kumari, along with Physical Education Teacher Mr. Akhilesh Kumar Chauhan, were honored for their achievements and contributions to sports.This celebration aimed to promote a sports culture in the region, encouraging students to engage in physical activities and develop their skills. By honoring Major Dhyan Chand’s legacy, the school reinforced the importance of sports in students’ lives.
Exploring Nature Trekking Adventure for St. Xavier’s Students
“Exploring Nature: Trekking Adventure for St. Xavier’s Students” In today’s fast-paced world, where screens and gadgets dominate our lives, it’s crucial to reconnect with nature. And what better way to do that than embarking on a thrilling trekking adventure? Students from St. Xavier’s School of Class IX to XII experienced the joy of trekking as part of their annual outdoor excursion on 15th April 2023. All concerned students and teachers assembled at 5.00 am in the school in their trekking gear. After attendance the Principal Mr.A.K.Singhal addressed the gathering giving them necessary guidance, blessings and wishing everyone a very happy and safe trekking experience. 98 students and 20 teachers were then sent at 5.30 am by school buses to Shahanshahi Ashram from where the party started the Trek to Barlowganj at 6.00 am. Led by experienced teachers, the students hiked through dense forests, crossed gushing streams, and climbed rugged trails, immersing themselves in the breathtaking beauty of the wilderness. The trek offered them a chance to learn about the local flora and fauna, as well as the importance of environmental conservation. Apart from the physical challenges, the trek also fostered teamwork, leadership skills, and camaraderie among the students. They learned to rely on each other, overcome obstacles, and celebrate achievements together, forging lasting friendships. The trekking adventure not only provided a much-needed break from their regular routine but also instilled in them a sense of appreciation and respect for nature. As they returned to school, tired but rejuvenated, the students carried with them cherished memories and valuable life lessons from their trekking expedition. They were given a warm welcome by the Principal on their return to the school st 5.00 pm. Many shared their experience with him and thanked him for his invaluable help and support in organising such a memorable expedition. Truly, an adventure of a lifetime!

Communal Harmony Week from 19th to 25th November 2022 and Flag Day on 25th November 2022. This was observed in the school to spread the message of peace, harmony and National integration.In accordance with the directives recieved from the Secretary of National Foundation For Communal Harmony, an autonomous organization with Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India. A Painting competition was organised in the school from classes 5th to 12th on the theme of Communal Harmony. Children took part in it with enthusiasm and painted marvelous posters on it. The Best 3 paintings were awarded by the principal Mr.A.K Singhal. Flag Day was observed on 25th November 2022 in which the Flags on Unity and Harmony were distributed to all the children on their generous contributions. A Team of 8 students and 2 teachers were also sent in the nearby areas of the school to sensitize the public about the need for fostering communal harmony and distribution of flags. The Fund collected from the above was sent to the office of National Foundation for Communal Harmony, Lok Nayak bhawan Khan Market, New Delhi-110003.
